Returning for the second year, Sunburst features a host of young and multi-talented individuals, as well as collaborative performances by SOTA and MDAS. Highlights of the concert include wheelchair dance couple Andy and Julie, pianist Azariah Tan and rapper-beatboxer, Wheelsmith (Danial Bawthan). Guaranteed to tug at your heartstrings, this is a concert you won’t want to miss. An art exhibition featuring works by MDAS and SOTA will be showcased at the foyer outside the SOTA Concert Hall as well.
Organised by The Business Times and produced by arts and culture not-for-profit Global Cultural Alliance Ltd alongside artistic director Jeremiah Choy, the 90-min show hopes to raise funds to support MDAS and the SOTA Student Assistance Fund (SOTA SAF). The concert is presented by CapitaLand Hope Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CapitaLand.

Muscular Dystrophy Association (Singapore) (MDAS)
MDAS aims to uplift the lives of people with muscular dystrophy and integrate them into society, while providing care and support for them and their families and caregivers. The condition, which describes muscle weakness, wasting and contractures, is progressive and has no cure, affecting both adults and children.
School of the Arts’ Singapore Student Assistance Fund (SOTA SAF)
SOTA’s philosophy is that no child should be deprived of or denied an education in the arts, due to any financial disadvantage. The SOTA SAF is set up to assist students who need financial aid, either due to special or sudden circumstances, or those who face financial difficulties. The assistance provided by the SOTA SAF would ensure that all students are able to complete their holistic art education in SOTA, and to realise both their artistic and academic potential as future generations of artists and creative professionals.
