The Pillowman follows the interrogation of writer Katurian by two detectives. Katurian has been accused of commiting a spate of murders in his town, which have been carried out in ways that are eerily similar to events and descriptions in the very own stories he has written in the past.

“Once upon a time, there was a man, who did not look like normal men. He was about nine feet tall… And he was all made up of these fluffy pink pillows: His arms were pillows and his legs were pillows and his body was a pillow; his fingers were tiny little pillows, even his head was a pillow, a big round pillow.”
